Jeff Pedelty, recipient of the NASA Exceptional Achievement Award

Jun. 27, 2011 • Jeff Pedelty, a research scientist representing NASA during the LDCM Operational Land Imager (OLI) build has been selected for NASA's Exceptional Achievement Medal. The OLI instrument is being built by Ball Aerospace & Technologies Corp. in Boulder, Colorado. Pedelty, a NASA civil servant at the Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland, has temporarily relocated to Colorado to serve as the on-site NASA representative while OLI is being built.

The prestigious NASA Exceptional Achievement Medal is awarded to employees who have enabled a substantial improvement or accomplishment that aids NASA's mission. To win the award, high-quality results, innovative approaches, and substantial improvements to a project must have been achieved.

Pedelty's valuable contributions during the build phase of Landsat's next generation imaging radiometer have been recognized with the receipt of this award.
